Rs 19.25 lakh released under Marriage Assistance Scheme in Ganderbal

The Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ganderbal has released financial assistance of Rs. 19.25 lakh on account of Marriage Assistance scheme among 66 beneficiaries in Ganderbal here today.The Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Hussain Ganai handed over the authority letter to the Manager, J&K Bank, Mini-Secretariat, Ganderbal for online credit to the individual accounts of beneficiaries.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Ganderbal exhorted upon the officials of Labor Department to raise awareness among the workers about various ongoing government Schemes, so that deserving people avail benefits of the scheme.

The Deputy Commissioner was informed that about 7625 construction workers have been so far registered in the district under the scheme. It was also said that financial assistance of Rs. 7.70 crore has been provided under the scheme in the district, while as Rs. 2.12 core has been distributed to the construction workers during the current fiscal.On the occasion, Assistant Labor Commissioner, briefed the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal about various ongoing schemes of the Department and progress achieved so far. He has also informed that the Centre Government has launched Atal Pension Yojna (APY) for all, especially the poor and the under-privileged section of the society. The Pension Scheme is for all citizens between age group of 18 and 40 years in the un-organized sector. The unorganized worker shall approach the J&K Bank where they have account to avail benefit from such Pension Scheme.
