Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli today convened a meeting with the officers of the Departments under his charge to review the progress of works.Commissioner Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries, Raj Kumar Bhagat also attended the meeting.During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the status of ongoing projects being executed by the department in the State and stressed for expediting the same.He directed the concerned authority to formulate a plan under National Programme for bovine breeding which shall be submitted to Government of India for approval and release of funds.The Minister also called for preparing a project for development of Red Sindhi breed of Kashmir division on the lines of Sehiwal breed of Jammu division.
Kohli directed the officers to expedite the process of establishment/construction of Training College at Shalteng, Srinagar at the earliest.The Minister desired that a proposal should be formulated and be taken up with the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department for utilization of State share available under the Centrally Sponsored schemes for live stock and disease control for procurement of various vaccines.The Minister asked the concerned officers to take appropriate steps to retrieve the department land from encroachers at Laam in Nowshera area of Rajouri district.Among others, Director, Animal and Sheep Husbandry Jammu S K Abrol, Director Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Kashmir, Mohammad Yousuf Chapru besides senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.
