Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, today convened a meeting to review arrangements for upcoming National Voters Day celebrations in the district to be held on January 25, 2017. Empowering Young and Future Voter's''The meeting discussed arrangements being made by different Departments to mark the Day in detail. It was said that various functions will be held in Srinagar at district, constituency and booth levels in which Officers, general public, civil society members, senior citizens representatives of NGOs and others shall participate.Speaking on the occasion, the DC Srinagar directed the officers to maintain coordination to make7th National Voters Day celebrations a success.Highlighting importance of the Day, he said that programmes regarding National Voters Day play an important role in creating awareness among the masses about participation in electoral process which thereby strengthens democracy.CEO Srinagar, District Social Welfare Officer, Electoral Officers, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Coordinators of NYKs, NCC, Representatives of SSP College, Government Women’s College M.A. Road, Government Women’s College Nawa Kadal, Burn Hall School, EPIC Vendor of District Srinagar and other concerned attended the meeting.
