Minister of State for Transport (Independent charge), Revenue, Public Works (Roads & Buildings), Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Agriculture Production and YSS Sunil Kumar Sharma today said the government is contemplating to strengthen the fleet of Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC) to extend its operation in uncovered areas. He said all the major routes in Kishtwar and Inderwal constituencies would be brought under SRTC map after strengthening its fleet.The Minister, while replying to a question by G M Saroori, said that JKSRTC is presently operating its bus service on Kishtwar-Passerkot Singpura route. "However due to shortage of fleet at Kishtwar, other routes cannot be catered. As soon as augmentation of fleet is made these routes will be brought under SRTC operation," he assured.The MLA in his question had demanded SRTC services for the routes from Kishtwar to Keshwan, Kishtwar to Patnazi via Bunjwah, Kishtwar to Sarthal, Kishtwar to Passerkoot Singpora, Kishtwar to Kuchall, Kishtwar to Bhata Sigdi, Kishtwar to Tatani Saroor and Kishtwar to Shanna Thakrie.
Most of PHE schemes functional in Shopian constituency: Sham ChoudharyMinister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today informed the Legislative Assembly that most of the Water Supply Scheme are functional in Shopian constituency.
There are 46 sanctioned PHE schemes in Shopian constituency, majority of which are functional on ground and some are under execution and at different stages of completion, the Minister said in reply to a question by Advocate Yousuf Bhat.The Minister also said that there are 19 filtration plants in the area and majority of these are functional. "Ten plants developed some faults and remained non-functional for some time. Eight of them have been made fully functional and remaining two will be restored soon ", said the Minister.Giving details of areas which have not been covered under PHE schemes and are facing shortage of drinking water in the area, the Minister informed that Mirzapora Sedow, Gatipora and Krechipathri villages are facing shortage of drinking water. The efforts are being made to cover Mirzapora Sedow under the scope of Water Supply Scheme Tulihallan and Gattipora under WSS Mujpathri, besides the Krechipathri area will be extended to distribution system during the current financial year, said the Minister.Raja Manzoor, Mubarak Gul and Er Abdul Rashid raised their supplementaries to the main question.
