Arvind Kejriwal releases special manifesto for differently abled persons of Punjab

Assures direct transfer of hiked pension of Rs 2500 directly into bank, Level of disability to be reduced from 50 to 40%

National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today released a special manifesto of the party for physically challenged persons of Punjab and assured hike in pension up to Rs 2500 per month.While addressing a huge gathering of disabled persons, Kejriwal said “Pension will be raised (up to Rs 2500) and directly transferred into bank accounts of the physically challenged”.AAP Government would increase Minimum income condition for pension eligibility from Rs 12,000 per annum to Rs One lakh per annum, on the  Delhi Government pattern, Kejriwal added.He said that for pension purposes, level of disability will be reduced from 50 to 40 per cent and Bedridden patients will be provided necessary kit, including wheel chair. Each physically challenged bed-ridden person will be provided a ‘Caretaker” allowance of Rs 5,000 per month.Backlog of jobs for handicapped persons would be filled within one year and one lakh handicapped would be skilled and provided livelihood on priority during the next five-years, he added. National Convener of AAP said once AAP forms government in Punjab, Land registration fee for handicapped would be reduced, as in case of women and One-time compensation to “khet mazdoor” and farmers suffering handicap would be enhanced from Rs 30,000 to Rs one lakh. 

A specially equipped wing for handicapped would be set up in all hostels for students and professionals in every district, he said adding that  a Special School will be opened for the Deaf & Dumb and also Mentally Challenged. Unveiling other points of the special manifesto, Kejriwal said free 24-hour helpline for disabled persons will be set up and Special Window for physically challanged would be created in all Suvidha Centres, Bus Stands, Hospitals etc.The Right of Persons With Disability Act, 2016, passed by Government of India would be implemented by the AAP Government in letter and spirit, Kejriwal said.Kejriwal said that time is ripe that people should end the friendly political match of Akalis and Congress, which have fixed their turn to loot Punjab for five years one by one. “Enough is Enough, now people should show door to both the corrupt parties as with the grace of God an honest political alternative in the form of AAP has emerged for people”, he added.“I have come to know that an International Drug Mafia is operational in Punjab and Majithia is the key agent of this Mafia to spread its network in every village of state", Kejriwal said while vowing that  result of Punjab election would be declared on March 11, by March 20 AAP would form its Government and by April 15, Majithia would be put behind bars.He said abolishing drug-abuse, rehabilitation of drug-addicted youth and improving the health and education system in Punjab would be on the top priorities of AAP Government of Punjab.

Arvind Kejriwal inducted people from different sections of society on the occasion. Former Congress MLA from Zira, Naresh Kataria, President Youth Akali Dal Moga, Navdeep Singh Sangha, Gurpreet Singh Safedwal ( MC, Moga), Pankaj Sood (General Secretary, Youth Akali Dal, Punjab), Harpreet Avi (Dist. President SOI Moga), Lakhbir Singh Lakha (General Secretary, Youth Akali Dal, Punjab) and Darshan Singh ( President, Tempo Union, Moga) Joined the party in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal.
