District Development Commissioner Ravinder Kumar flagged off farmers exposure tour under Mission Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) from here today.During the six days tour 28 farmers from Mahore, Pouni, Dharmari, Reasi and Arnas, will be apprised with latest technological interventions in the field of horticulture.Speaking on the occasion, District Development Commissioner stressed on farmers to learn about the advance techniques that can be applied to improve productivity in horticulture sector .The group will visit Dogazi Bagh nursery in Reasi , Advance Centre for Horticulture Research at Udhaywala, SKUAST Chatha, Grape farm Marallia ,Canning Centre (CCI) Jammu and Nai Basti Akhnoor , Badola Nursery Udhmapur and Advance Centre for Horticulture Development at Ramban .During the visit , subject experts will provide trainings and acquaint the farmers with latest technological aids for improved farming. The visiting farmers will interact with the famers of Kandi belt to gain experience in methods of irrigation, cropping pattern and plantation techniques.Visit to Badola Nursery Udhmapur and Advance Centre for Horticulture Development at Ramban shall help the farmers to learn about different horticulture crops and their propagation techniques. The experts will introduce them with poly houses, organic plantation culture and Vermi compost Units at Ramban.Chief Horticulture Officer and other officers were present on the occasion.
