Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today visited Ashmuji, Qaimoh, Chimer and DH Pora areas of the district to monitor snow clearance measures and essential services availability after fresh snowfall in Kulgam At Kulgam town the DC directed the Xens of Mechanical Engineering Department, PMGSY and R&B Engineers to expedite the snow clearance process.With respect to power scenario in the district, it was said that 70 percent of the power supply has been restored and work on to restore electric power supply to rest of district is going on in full swing.The DC also visited Tehsil Office, where he ordered attachment of the Tehsildar and other two staff members for remaining unauthorizedly absent from their duties.Later, he visited Chimer Dargah and interacted with people. He said that the upgradation of the Kulgam grid station is going on and shall be shortly commissioned which will mitigate the power issues to a large extent in the district.
