Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Manzoor Ahamd Qadri, today conveyed a meeting of District Task Force to discuss modalities for effective implementation of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (Phase 1st) scheduled on January 29, 2017.The meeting was informed that two medical blocks of the district i.e. Shopian and Keller have a population of 43371 children below the age of 05 years. It was said that Chanchmarg, Herrpura, Check Sedow, Cheermarg, Kazipathri, Dunaroo and Zampathri areas of the district are high risk areas and need special focus under the programme.
On the occasion, the DC directed members of the District Task Force to ensure that not a single child below the age of 05 years should be left out of the programme. He also stressed the officials of Health Department to lay special focus on the identified high risk areas in the district.While highlighting the importance of the programme, he said that it is a national programme and needs to be implemented in letter and spirit to eradicate the menace of polio and other related diseases. CEO, ARTO, Executive Engineer Mechanical Division, officials of Health Department and other concerned attended the meeting.
