A meeting of the District Level Task Force for intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme-2017, was held here today under the chairmanship of Additional District Development Commissioner Avtar Singh Chib.Chief Medical Officer Dr. Muhammad Younis apprised the members of the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the first round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme scheduled to be held on 29th January.It was informed in the meeting that the first round will be of three days for which 639 booths have been identified where polio doses to around 106383 children in the age group of 0-5 years shall be administered and about 2548 officials have been deputed for the purpose. It was also informed in the meeting that additional 19 transit teams have been constituted in addition so as to cover the high risk areas and will remain functional 24 hours for providing immunization at all the bus stands and prominent places in the district and also along Jammu Poonch national highway.
Besides a team of District officers has also been constituted to monitor the whole programme in all the blocks level.ADDC stressed upon officers to educate the masses about the programme and also involve PRI functionaries in implementing these programmes effectively. He exhorted upon the officers of Health, ICDS, Social Welfare and Education Departments to put in their sincere and coordinated efforts to make the district polio free.He asked the health department to make proper arrangement for coverage especially in the high risk and snow bound areas of the district.Chief Medical Officer, Dr.Muhammad Younis, Deputy CMO Dr.Anees Ahmed, Chief Education Officer, Altaf Hussain,District social Welfare Officer,Dr.Abdul Khabir,Executive engineer PWD, Sadeeq Wani,CDPO Rajouri Aquil Naveed beside all Block Medical Officers and prominent citizens attended the meeting.
