DDC Kulgam reviews functioning of RDD

District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today chaired a meeting to take stock of the functioning of Rural Development Department (RDD) in the district.ADC, ACD, AD Planning, BDOs, Programme Officers and Engineers of Rural Wing attended the meeting.The DDC directed the officers of RDD to strictly adhere to the plans already approved by Gram Sabhas for execution of works.It was said that the approved labour budget for 2016-2017 was Rs 36.67 crore and against availability of Rs 36.23 crore, an expenditure of Rs 22.56 crore was made amounting to 61 percent of the total budget by ending December, 2016.Briefing the meeting, ACD Kulgam said that the Department has generated 6.18 lakh man-days till date and 414 families have been provided complete 100 days of work.It was given out that as many as 54943 job cards were issued providing a job to 14376 persons, while as 2951 fresh works were taken up for execution and 3252 works were completed.The meeting was informed that under Flood Protection Management Project, three blocks of  the district—Pahloo, Devsar and Kulgam  have been taken up on which an expenditure of Rs 3.50 crore have been made under MGNREGA in convergence with different programmes.

Under IAY, 872 families have been provided housing facilities which includes 523 families of ST population.
