In wake of heavy snow fall in the valley, the district administrations of various districts today took stock of the measures undertaken for snow clearance to facilitate the people.The district administrations of Ganderbal, Pulwama, Budgam and Shopian districts geared up their men and machinery for Snow clearance on various intra and inter district roads.The snow clearance work is being carried out in full Swing including National Highway, Roads approaching Hospitals and Link Roads.At Ganderbal, besides overseeing the snow clearance operation, ADC Ganderbal Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari, also took stock of the availability of essential Commodities in the district especially in far flung and remote villages in the District.The Additional Deputy Commissioner has asked all the officer and filed agencies to be present on their places of deployment with punctuality so that people do not face any difficulty.At Budgam, Deputy Commissioner Mir Altaf Ahmad took stock of the situation and directed concerned officers of R&B, PMGSY, SDM’s, Municipality Committees and concerned Tehsildars to ensure the clearance of snow from all the roads as per the action plan.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure all basic facilities in the district, besides directed the Executive Engineer PDD to restore disrupted power supply immediately. He directed all the district officers /sectoral officers to remain available at their respective places to provide all sort of assistance to general public.At Pulwama, the Deputy Commissioner, Muneer ul Islam reviewed the ongoing work being executed for snow clearance, besides sstock and supply of essentials in the district. He directed Mechanical Wing and Executive Engineer R&B to maintain sufficient number of snow cutting and clearance machines and establish a control room at district Headquarter for the convenience of the public.The DC instructed all the concerned to ensure all roads in the district especially leading to hospitals and link roads are cleared so that people do not face any difficulty.At Shopian, Deputy Commissioner, called a meeting to take stock of the situation arisen due to incessant snowfall in the District.The DC directed for clearance of snow from roads on priority. He asked the concerned to ensure snow clearance on roads connecting other districts, besides restoration of power supply as soon as possible.
