Actor Sakthi Vasu says his father and veteran filmmaker P. Vasu has been able consistently deliver hits because he makes the kind of films he strongly believes in with an "I don't care" attitude."I think the biggest factor behind dad's illustrious career is the fact that he makes the kind of films he believes in. He's a 'don't care master'," Sakthi told IANS, adding that his father quickly detaches from failure."When his last Tamil film 'Puli Vesham' failed, he didn't care much and went on to deliver two back-to-back hits in the form of Kannada films 'Drishya' and 'Shivalinga'. The Tamil version of 'Shivalinga' is his 65th film and he could sustain this long because he's always made films for his audience," he said. Some of the biggest hits in veteran Vasu's career include "Chinna Thambi", "Mannan" and "Chandramukhi".

Sakthi has worked with his father in upcoming Tamil thriller "Shivalinga", an eponymous remake of the Kannada version, starring Raghava Lawrence and Ritika Singh.Talking about the film, he said: "This film will give a new colour to my career. It's a role with different shades. In the Kannada version, my father underplayed my character. When Lawrence master watched the film, he insisted that my role be extended for the Tamil version," he said. The film also shares ace comedian Vadivelu, and Sakthi believes this project will serve as the perfect comeback for the former."'Shivalinga' will be the real comeback for Vadivelu sir. We had to make the Tamil version even more entertaining than the original and he deserves full credit for it. He has improvised a lot of things in the remake," he added.
