Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Law & Justice, Abdul Haq today unveiled the Calendar-2017 of the Rural Development Department which showcases the achievements of the department.Conceived under the guidance of the Rural Development Minister the Calendar is a journey of various initiatives taken by the department in the state.Other officers who were present on the occasion included Secretary Rural Development Department Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Director RDD Jammu, Director Rural Sanitation, and Mission Director NRLM besides other senior officers of the department.
Abdul Haq on the occasion asked the officers to ensure transparency and meet targets of the various state and central schemes.“The calendar depicts the work of one year by the department which has benefited the public at large. We will continue our endeavor to accomplish the target of the schemes,” he said.The department has covered different themes in the Calendar which includes Water conservation, geo-tagging of Rural Development assets for accountability and transparency, Panchayats, Roads, bridges and culverts, community facilitation assets at village level, Himayat, minor irrigation activities, cleanliness and monitoring at grass root level.
