Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, and Chairman Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS)  Kavinder Gupta convened a meeting of the governing body of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar here today.Medical Superintendent and Vice-Chairman, Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Dr Madhuri  Salathia, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr Robinder Khajuria, Dy Medical Superintendent, Dr Arun Sharma besides other officers attended the meeting.Speaker was apprised regarding the physical and financial achievements of the institution and it was informed that revenue of Rs 5 lakh was realized during April–September 2016 while an expenditure of Rs 52.40 lakh was incurred during this period.It was apprised in the meeting that about 37057 outdoor patients and 2102 indoor patients were treated in November 2016, while 279 major and 701 minor operations were conducted during the period. Besides, the hospital is providing medicare under RBSK and about 267 cases have been screened during this month.It was also informed that various quality improvement programmes are being implemented in the hospital including Kayakalp, Model Hospital Initiative (PM Development Package), Quality Assurance Programme, Smart City etc, for which the hospital is being funded through National Health Mission. Likewise, active prescription audit is also being done and maximum prescription is being done from hospital dispensary.

The institution has also started online Web Page with complaint management system and facebook page www.facebook.com/ghgandhinagar besides Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan is being successfully conducted at Gandhi Nagar Hospital on 9th of every month.Expressing satisfaction over the improvements and achievements made in different units and sections of the hospital, Kavinder stressed upon regular follow up of the work done for further improving the basic medicare available to the common masses. He emphasized that priority should be given to the quality of services being provided to the people and it should be ensured that welfare programmes are implemented in letter and spirit.The Medical Superintendent raised a number of issues which were discussed threadbare by the members of the governing body.
