Year 2016 : Army kills 109 ‘unidentified’ militants in Kashmir

This year Government Forces particularity Army  killed 144 militants out of 109 are those whose identity have not been ascertained yet. Last year also the number of unidentified militants killed in Valley has crossed 100 mark.The statistics shows that most of the unidentified militants have been killed in frontier district Kupwara. According to news agency CNS in January this year three unidentified militants were killed in Lohar Mohalla Lolab in Kupwara district. The number rose to 11 in February. The 11 unidentified militants killed in February in three different gun fights at Khosa Mohalla area of Hajin town of Bandipora district, Marsari village of Chowkibal border area in Kupwara district and inside the EDI Building at Saffron town Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.In Hadoora (Wanihama) village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district and Bhatmohalla Handwara town of Kupwara district 3 unidentified militants were killed in the month of March. 

Five unidentified militants were killed in April who were gunned down by Army in Sheikhpura area of Lalpora Kupwara, Putshai area of Lolab in Kupwara and Kanthpora Lolab of Kupwara district.The number of unidentified militants killed in May was 11 who were neutralized by Army in four separate encounters at Zunereshi Chowkibal area of frontier district Kupwara, Chek Dragmulla area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, Saraibal area of Srinagar city, Naugam sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.Sixteen unidentified militants were killed in June in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara, Dragmulla, Wadarbala Handwara, Pampore and Uri. In July, nine unidentified militants were killed mostly in Kupwara district. Twelve unidentified militants were killed in August mostly in Tangdar sector of Kupwara. The number of unidentified militants killed in September was 12, in October it was 9 and the number touched to 15 in November this year. (CNS)
