2 more Akali leaders joins Congress, Captain Amarinder welcomes the 'homecoming'

In another setback to the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), two more Akali leaders on Wednesday joined the Punjab Congress in the presence of Captain Amarinder Singh, who welcomed their 'homecoming' into the party.Captain Amarinder hailed the entry of Nabha stalwart, Ramesh Singla, ex-MLA and Akali leader, as well and municipal councillor Ashok Bittu into the party fold as another jolt for the SAD, which was a sinking ship in Punjab. The two joined the Congress uconditionally in the presence of Nabha MLA Sadhu Singh Dharmsot.Ramesh Singla, who joined SAD in 2014, is an ex-Congress MLA from Nabha, as well as former Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) general secretary and ex-PYC president. Bittu is a 5-time time councillor from Nabha and also joined SAD in 2014.Expressing full faith in the leadership of Captain Amarinder, Singla said that the wrong policies of the Akali government had inflicted heavy damage on the state.
