To ensure take stock of the arrangements for the devotees at Shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (RA) during the Urs days, the Vice Chairman J&K Wakaf Board, Peer Mohammad Hussain today visited Dastgeer Sahib Shrine at Khanyar.
On the occasion, Peer Mohammad Hussain directed the officials of the JKPCC to complete the ongoing construction work before the Urs days so that devotees do not face any difficulty. The Urs days are commencing from December 29, 2016 (Thursday) Later, VC convened a meeting to review the arrangements being put in place for the smooth conduct of the Urs. He stressed upon the concerned officers to provide uninterrupted electricity & water supply, besides ensure cleanliness in and around the shrine especially during the Urs days. He asked the FCS&CA officials to provide additional quota of ration and LPG cylinders to the locals.
On the occasion, the VC was informed that health department will set up three medical camps at the shrine. Fire and Emergency Department will setup three fire tenders besides will take care of fire extinguishers in the shrine. RTO was asked to ensure inter-district transport service up to the shrine during Urs days. The PDD officials were asjed to repair defunct street lights in the area.The VC stressed upon the officers to work in coordination so that better facilities are provided to the devotees visiting the Shrine.Meanwhile, district administration has deputed SDM Srinagar, Mohammad Hanief Balkhi as nodal officer for Urs arrangements.
