Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) today ridiculed the claims by PPCC President Captain Amarinder Singh to end the drug mafia from Punjab within 24 hours, if Congress voted to power.AAP Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich in a rejoinder said that first of all Congress would not be voted to power and secondly Capt Amarinder Singh has track record of shielding drug smugglers and his party has many of them. Holding Capt Amarinder Singh responsible for starting drug trade, Waraich reminded the PPC President his opposition to CBI probe against his relative and Revenue Minister in SAD-BJP Government Bikram Singh Majithia who was named kingpin of drug trade by former cop turned drug lord Jagdish Bhola. The Congress party had launched chain hunger strike to press for CBI probe when Capt Amarinder Singh had gone against the party line to protect Majithia in the synthetic drug racket.Waraich said that Congress and Akali leaders were hand in glove to run the drug trade. He added that what was conceived by Capt Amarinder Singh was later commercialized by SAD-BJP government. He said that Capt Amarinder Singh couldn’t befool people time and again. When he was Chief Minister of Punahb during 2002 to 2007, he made many such statements even after arrest of a youth congress leader of Jalandhar with the contraband.Waraich said that people of Punjab had no faith in false commitments of Capt Amarinder Singh who is an extended arm of corrupt and inept regime like SAD-BJP alliance.
