Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari, today asked concerned executing agencies to ensure timely completion of all developmental projects on fast-track basis.The Minister said this while chairing review meeting of District Development Board (DDB) of Bandipora held at SKICC Srinagar here.Deputy Speaker of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA Gurez, Nazir Ahmed Khan (Gurezi) was also present in the meeting.Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Nissar Hussain, various heads of the departments, sectoral and district officers attended the meeting.Giving a detailed account of developmental activities being carried out under core sectors in the district, the District Development Commissioner Bandipora informed the meeting about the physical and financial achievements registered under district plan of Rs. 98.96 crore during the current fiscal. He informed that Rs. 28.39 crore have been made available till November 2016 out of which Rs. 18.22 crore, have been expended on various developmental works and welfare schemes.

The DDC while giving a detailed presentation of the developments in various sectors appraised the meeting about the DDB directions implemented in the district.While taking a review of the projects under Power sector, the Chairman was informed that the Grid Station at Pathushai Bandipora is coming up at estimated cost of Rs 17.11 crore and till date an expenditure of Rs 15.46 crore have been recorded.In order to improve power scenario in the district, the Minister directed the concerned agencies that the Grid Station should be made functional on priority basis. He also directed the officials of PDD to adhere to the power schedule strictly and asked them to ensure adequate power supply in rural pockets of Gurezi area.Regarding physical achievements, the Minister was informed that Rs. 50.70 crore works on 16 roads, 2 bridges is under progress and are expected to be completed by the end of current fiscal. While 5 new projects costing Rs. 15.98 crore are near completion which include Conference Hall at District Headquarters Bandipora, Dak Bunglaow at Sumbal, Bandipora and Gurez.

The meeting was further informed that under PMGSY 4 road projects costing Rs. 14.57 have been targeted for current fiscal of which two roads from Argam to Chapran and Sumlar to Surinder have been completed while as roads from Chuntimulla to Kudra and Neeru to Sikander are near to completion.Endorsing various suggestions and demands put forth by the Board members, the Minister directed the district administration to take appropriate measures towards implementation of the decisions taken in letter and spirit. He directed the concerned departments to work in synergy and plan accordingly so that the issues are resolved giving impetus to the developmental initiatives.Under the PHE sector, it was said that 77 water supply schemes were sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 191 crore during 2015-16, out of which 13 schemes were completed in Bandipora, Gurez and Sumbal.The Minister directed DDC Bandipora to ensure a monthly review of the developmental activities taken in the district. Stressing the need to put in place effective mechanism for timely execution of ongoing projects, the Minister asked for ensuring transparency, accountability and judicious utilization of funds. He also directed the officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure effective and successful implementation of all schemes launched for welfare of people.
