Member Legislative Council, Mohammad Khursheed Aalam, today reviewed progress of various developmental works and called for sports infrastructure development of schools in Old City Srinagar.The MLC visited Government Girls High School (GGHS) Khanyar and took stock of its functioning. While interacting with the students and staff of the School he directed for up-gradation of the school infrastructure.He said that schools should develop infrastructure for indoor games as well so that students are provided co-curricular facilities and opportunities to exhibit their talent.On the occasion, he announced Rs 30 lakh from his CDF for the development of modern Basketball Court at the School. He also instructed for shifting of garbage dumping site outside the school premises to alternate place for the convenience of the students.The MLC also visited New Colony Budubagh and directed the PDD officials to replace the wooden electric poles for the safety of the public. He also directed for installation of new electric transformer at Suritengh Rainawari.Later, Aalam visited various areas of the old city to review the progress of ongoing developmental projects during which he interacted with various local delegations.Officers of SMC, PDD, Youth Services and Sports and other concerned accompanied the MLC during the visit.
