CM Underscores Need For Making Girls More Skilful

Competent And Employable Through A Variety Of Training Institutes

Underscoring the need for making the youth of state especially the girls more skilful competent and employable through a variety of training institutes, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute was a right step towards this direction. Presiding over the first governing body meeting of the Institute here today, the Chief Minister said that this premier centre was opened in 2015 with a mission to provide necessary training, education and coaching to eligible girls of the state in order to enable them to join the officer cadre of the Defence Services. He said that this fully residential training institute set up was aimed at empowering girls by providing them with a life time opportunity to choose an elite carrier of commissioned officer in the defence services. 

Mr. Badal said that this Centre was first of its kind in the residential institute in the country, where girls join after 10+2. He said that the lady cadets, as they are addressed were, trained in the play ground, mental and personality domains to enable them to pin officers’ training academy.Earlier welcoming the Chief Minister, Director Mai Bhago AFPI Maj Gen IP Singh, presented the annual report of the institute highlighting the achievements.Prominent amongst other present on the occasion included Cabinet Minister Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, State Chief Secretary Mr. Sarvesh Kaushal and Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. KJS Cheema.
