Secretary Tribal Affairs Department, Saurabh Bhagat today convened a high-level meeting of officers to review the   progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes like Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan (SCA to TSP), pre-matric, post-matric scholarships, Tribal Research Institute and Tribal Hostels.The Secretary interacted with all the District Development Commissioners (DDCs) through video-conferencing and sought the details of the physical and financial achievements recorded in the tribal sector under various Centrally Sponsored Schemes.The Secretary asked the DDCs to increase the pace of the work on all the ongoing projects and submit utilization certificates (UCs) to Administrative Department so that further funds are released and benefits accrue to the tribal people.Seeking details regarding the identification and preparation of Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) of “Cluster Model Villages “in various district, the Secretary was informed that the work is progress and all pending DPRs will be submitted to the department very soon.

The Secretary asked all DDCs to come up with a list of students who will be imparted job oriented skill development training outside the state by Tribal Affairs Department.

Seeking details regarding the construction of Eklavaya Residential Model Schools (ERMS) the Secretary was informed that currently two schools at Kulgam and Anantnag at the cost of rupees twenty-four  24 crore will be made functional within this year. The Secretary directed the concerned to speedup the work process and to come up with DPRs for the construction of new schools.The Secretary also sought details regarding the condition of Gujjar Bakarwals hostel and issued rupees forty-five lakh for the renovation of these hostels. The Secretary said that the department is going to provided financial support of rupees twenty thousand for coaching and study martial to the tribal students interested in administrative services and directed the concerned to come up with list of the students so that beneficiaries are benefited.He directed all the DDCs to reach out to the people and sensitize them about the welfare programmes implemented by the government so that they can avail maximum benefits of these schemes and motivate tribal people to develop Travel Tourism Village.
