The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal today strongly castigated the Congress and said that the people of Punjab have seen the destructive rule of this party which brought down Punjab drastically on the developmental parameters. He also said that on the other hand, the people of the state have also been witness to the wave of development and prosperity unleashed by the SAD-BJP government during past 9 years. The Deputy Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab very well know the difference between right and wrong and would give a befitting reply to the anti -Punjab  forces in the assembly polls. Interacting with the media-persons here on the occasion of inaugurating various progress oriented projects, S. Badal also took on AAP and said that whatever trick this party employs it would come a cropper in the assembly elections next year. He further said that only the SAD-BJP government has interests of Punjab uppermost in its mind and is the true representative of the people of Punjab. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister kickstarted various developmental projects in the Jalalabad constituency which included initiation of the construction process of water supply and sewerage facilities at arniwala. He also inaugurated the newly constructed building of Government Senior Secondary School for Boys which has come up at a cost of Rs. 18 crore. He also announced Rs. 25 lakh for buying of furniture for school besides an indoor stadium.

The Deputy Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed building of the Jalalabad Co-operative Agriculture Development Bank Ltd. apart from the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. While inaugurating a 100 bedded hospital and a University Institute of Nursing,  the Deputy Chief Minister said a long pending demand of the people of this region has been fulfilled with this hospital which would provide top notch health care services to the people of the region. He also divulged that the hospital would have services of 20 specialists at its disposal. On the occasion, S. Badal distributed gas connections and cooking gas stoves (Chulha's) and cheques of Rs. 1.50 lakh for the families hailing from the poor sections of the society.The Deputy Chief Minister further disclosed that a sum of more than Rs. 700 crore has been spent on the holistic development of Jalalabad constituency during the previous 7 years the prime example of which is the opening of 4 skill development centres. Coming to the futuristic announcements, S. Badal said that in the course of next 5 years all the water channels would be concretized and every town would have a colony for the people belonging to the  poor echelons of the society. Exhorting the people to continue the unmatched developmental saga of Punjab, the Deputy Chief Minister assured that the SAD-BJP government would continue to strive for more and more development of the state.On the occasion, OSD to the Deputy Chief Minister - Satinderjit Singh Manta, Senior SAD leader Paramjit Singh Sidhwan, Special Principal Secretary to the Deputy Chief Minister - Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Chairman District Planning Board Prem Valecha, District President SAD Ashok Aneja, SSP Narinder Bhargav and others were also present.
