The Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC) has been conferred the best performance award in recognition of its outstanding work as the State channelizing agency of National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC) for the year 2016.The Chairperson, JKWDC, Ms Naheed Soz, on behalf of the State Social Welfare Department, received the memento and commendation certificate from President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee at an impressive function held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on Dec 3, 2016. The Corporation was rated best channelizing agency in 2011 alsoThe Corporation has been honored with the best award considering its excellent performance in disbursement of loan to a large number of beneficiaries, percentage of recovery of loans disbursed in the previous years, percentage of utilization of funds allocated and repayments to NHFDC.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Social Welfare, Sajad Gani Lone has appreciated the work of JKWDC for which it has been conferred the prestigious award. He hailed the efforts of the Corporation for effectively implementing various centrally and state sponsored women welfare schemes on the ground successfully.“The Corporation has done a commendable work in mobilizing and encouraging the women folk of the state to take up entrepreneurship as a career. Economic empowerment is bound to pave the way for further emancipation of women in the state,” he said.
