Exhorting teachers to focus on promoting value-systems among students, Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today said teacher’s success lies in making students refined citizens, enriching them with knowledge and preparing them to face the challenges of life.The Minister was speaking at the annual day celebration of Stephens International Public School at Zorawar Singh Auditorium in Jammu University.Former legislator Prof Gharu Ram Bhagat, Chairman, Stephens International Public School, Dr Kamal Saini, Director, Satvinder Saini besides teaching and non-teaching staff, students and parents were present on the occasion.Describing youth as nation’s future, Choudhary Lal Singh said the young minds should work earnestly towards bringing laurels to the state and the country. In this regard, he termed the role of teachers of utmost significance as only teachers can mould students into better human beings, a pre-requisite for the nation’s progress and prosperity.
The Minister also emphasized upon the teaching fraternity to encourage extra-curricular activities among the students as these help them keep their minds and body healthy. He also stressed the importance of imparting quality education which is the basis for an emancipated individual. He appealed the teachers and parents to work in tandem for overall development of the student.The Minister said the aim of education is not merely passing examinations but to produce industrious personalities. He said alongside academic pursuit extramural activities provide an excellent opportunity for the youth to exhibit and develop their creative talent besides, acquiring knowledge to help them lead harmonious lives.Choudhary Lal Singh wished students and school management great success in future.Earlier, colorful cultural items were presented by the school children depicting cultural ethos of the region which were highly applauded by the audience.Vice Principal of the school, Vikesh Santhal presented vote of thanks.
