Congress Delegation led by JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir was again barred from visiting Batagund Dooru and meeting family of Former Sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Malik, who was killed a day before yesterday.Earlier G.A. Mir led by Senior Congress Leaders were stopped at Jawahar Tunnel by the Police, but they managed to reach Umoo Verinag, where from they were not allowed to move towards Batagund, even PCC Chief was not allowed to enter his residence at Umoo, which is highly unfortunate and condemnable. The Police Authorities informed the delegation that there were clear directions from the Govt no to allow G.A. Mir to visit Batagund Verinag und offer condolences to bereaved family of Malik, which the police has claimed that the slain was killed after decamping with AK Rifle from police Station Dooru, thereby creating an impression that he was killed in a retaliatory action.Condemning the Govt for putting curbs on the opposition Mir described it as undemocratic, unethical and blamed the Govt for the killing of Sajad Ahmad Malik, who was under strenuous pressure to work for the ruling PDP. He said barring opposition from visiting Batagund amounts to granting impunity to killers. He said the unnecessary restrictions on our movement vindicates our claim regarding killing of Former Sarpanch and we will continue to fight against innocent killing and barbaris,  Mir added.

PCC Chief also condemned the suspected killing of Assadullah Kumar of Mandhole Qazigund yesterday and asked the Govt to initiate a probe into this killing, so that the culprits behind this incident of killing are identified for punishment. Mir blamed PDP BJP Coalition for loss of lives and warned that killing of innocent people won’t be tolerated. PCC Chief was accompanied by MLA Mohd Amin Bhat, MLA Gulzar Ahmad Wani, General Secretaries Surinder Singh Channi Hilal Ahmad Shah, PCC Secretary Farooq Malpuri, Ali Mohd Mantoo, Office bearers of DCC Anantnag, Youth Congress Leaders and other senior leaders.Meanwhile, JKPCC Vice President MLC G. N. Monga, who is representing Panchayats in Legislative Council was also barred from visiting Dooru, he was scheduled to visit residence of   Former Sarpanch Sajad Ahmad Malik. Condemning the Govt for putting curbs on the opposition, Monga described it as a move to suppress the opponents with the fear of being getting exposed, he said .Lashing out at coalition Govt for barring Congress Leaders from visiting Batagund Verinag, Monga termed it as an attempt to hide the reality behind the killing of former Sarpanch.Expressing serious concern over the killing of Former Sarpanch, PCC Vice President said he believes that only a time bound judicial probe would bring the truth  behind Sajad’s killing at fore, as there were different versions from the Police department, which were not satisfactory rather it has added confusions to this issue.(CNS)
