“Remarks on surgical strikes have reactions”

Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday said present atmosphere is not conducive for talks.He said that that ‘provocative remarks’ by rulers after “surgical strikes” was bound to have reactions from Pakistan, resulting in increase in attacks of military establishments.“It was better to had not made any (provocative) comments on surgical strikes. It was better to prove your worth through your actions than making statements. After surgical strikes, Defence Minister said that India will gouge out eyes of Pakistan if it raised eyes against India. Such remarks were bound to have reactions (from Pakistan),” he told KNS correspondent at the sidelines of party convention in south Kashmir’s district Anantnag.He added that it is unfortunate that our establishments are attacked every day.“I have accepted responsibilities for the wrongs and mistakes for 2010. Why Mehbooba Mufti cannot accept responsibility for 2016,” he said.He said that dialogue is the only way to resolve all issues, however, said that present atmosphere is not conducive for talks.Earlier, addressing party works, he said that party workers are the base of NC. “We have strengthen party base. The base of the party is you (party workers). We will keep meeting through meetings and conventions. We have learnt lessons. Not only learnt but have also known how to implement this lessons to improve,” he said. (KNS)
