The Shiromani Akali Dal today got a shot in the arm when state president of Aam Admi Party Panchayat Cell Hardev Singh Sayalu and Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Tanda joined the party along with their supporters in the presence of SAD President and Deputy Chief Minister Punjab S. Sukhbir Singh Badal here today. It is mentioned here that and former general secretary of Punjab Peoples Party Mr Tanda had contested assembly election unsuccessfully from Sanour constituency in 2012 and Mr Sayalu has been working tirelessly for the rights Punjab panchayats union in the state.While presenting a siropa (robe of honour) SAD president S. Badal said Mr Sayalu and Mr Tanda would be accorded full respect in the party and their services would be utilized in making SAD more strong in the Malwa region. He disclosed that many leaders of the opposition parties are vying to join SAD.Welcoming both leaders into SAD fold, party president S. Badal described this development as another stamp of approval on the pro-people, and development agenda of SAD under the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister S. Parkash Singh Badal.
Interacting with media-persons on the occasion, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal said it is the result of rapid development and constructive policies during the previous 9 years that the opposition is bereft of any issues and the opposition parties like congress and AAP are abhorred by the people.Castigating AAP in the strongest terms, Mr Sayalu said neither does AAP respects Sikhs nor its leaders care for the sentiments of the Sikh community. Terming AAP outfit as a bunch of psychologically ill people, he said such people don’t care to measure their words before speaking.Mr Tanda alleged that infighting in the Congress has demolished the party in the state and said after a long observation it has come to fore that SAD was the only party, which could achieve greater development heights in time to come. He said that he was influenced by the people friendly policies of Akali Dal and development initiatives accomplished under the visionary guidance of nation’s one of the senior most and seasoned politician S. Parkash Singh Badal.Among those present on the occasion were member parliament Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, former minister Hira Singh Gabhria, OSD to Deputy CM Charanjit Singh Brar.
