Punjab Democratic Party (PDP) today took a dig at the Punjab Congress president Captain Amarinder Singh's new slogan 'Captain ne saun chukki, har ghar ikk naukri pakki' and flayed him for promising moon to people.Er.Gurkirpal Singh President of Punjab Democratic Party in a statement said that Capt Amarinder Singh was making false promises of loan waivers to farmers and 50 lakh free mobiles and jobs to youth. He said that why people shall trust him when he has failed in his pledge to eradicate corruption, poverty and lawlessness during his previous regime. He that Capt Amarinder Singh shall desist from making lofty claims and instead focus on key issues. He said that Congress party has no concrete road map for Punjab on drug menace, unemployment, mafia and crime control. He said that by launching attractive schemes, the Congress is not doing any service to the people. Congress party is working on the footsteps of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) which had promised to give laptops to all school students and unemployment allowance to eligible youth. He said that Congress and SAD-BJP had drafted their policies to restrict the growth of people and make them dependent on politicians. He said that instead of providing jobs, all previous governments of these parties had kept their focus on launching welfare schemes and using the poor people as political fodder. He said that health and education system in Punjab had seen continues fall during Congress and SAD-BJP government as their focus was to promote private sector not the services.

The PDP president said that Congress and SAD-BJP were taking turns to rule Punjab and they both are desperate to grab power. He said that the previous election manifestoes of both parties are carbon copy of each other full of popular slogans but they have failed to give any new direction to the people of state. He said that now better political alternatives were available for the people and he urged the voters use their right of franchise to change the system, not the government.Er.Gurkirpal Singh cautioned the people that none of the promises made by Capt Amarinder Singh is impractical and Congress would never live up to them. Congress is playing political gimmicks to secure power by all means.PDP chief said that Congress has hired the services of same political strategist who had earlier worked with BJP and gave the slogan of 'Acche Din Ayenge'. He appealed to people not to fall prey for catchy slogans and support the young political outfit, Punjab Democratic Party for better future of Punjab.
