Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh today said it is imperative to develop in students ethics and values besides imparting education so that they can effectively serve their state and the nation. The Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at the 12th Annual day “NAVRASA” celebrations of Heritage School held here today.Legislators Vibodh Gupta and Sat Sharma, Secretary School Education, Shaleen Kabra, political leader Mamta Singh besides many prominent citizens, staff, students and parents were present on the occasion.Dr Singh viewed that imparting quality education to children is a challenging task wherein the focus should not only be on imparting education but also on instilling scruples and values so they can effectively serve their state as well as their nation.

The Deputy Chief Minister highly lauded the school management, staff for grooming students to have Indian cultural roots and global outlook. He stressed on the role of the school education in shaping the holistic personality of the future generation that holds peace, goodwill, brotherhood and humanity above everything else.“With IIT along with other prestigious institutes like IIM, AIIMS, IIMC coming up in Jammu,  it will give Jammu a new identity as an Educational Hub besides being a sought after tourist destination,” Dr Singh said. The meritorious students who secured 10 CGPA were awarded with certificates and cash prizes of Rs 10,000 each sponsored by Dhanwanti Memorial Trust under the patronage of Nirmal Gupta, senior member of the management board of trustees.
