To deal effectively with waste management, and clogging of drains and nallahs in the winter capital, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today introduced maiden Super-Sucker Machine in the city.The Super-Sucker Machine was formally made operational at a function organized by JMC at M A Stadium here today. Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said operationalization of the Super-Sucker Machine is a technology-driven sanitation process which will go a long way into converting Jammu into a Smart city. The machine will help resolve various problems faced by the people due to water logging, sewer line and drainage blockages in the city, Dr Singh added.He said the machine will regularly perform cleaning and maintenance operations of the drainage lines, extract sewerage and discharge sludge at pre-assigned places in an environment-friendly and hygienic manner.The mechanical unit of Jammu Municipal Corporation performed a live demonstration of the Super Sucker Machine and extracted sewerage from the nallah near M.A Stadium.The Super Sucker Machine has been provided to the JMC by the Jammu and Kashmir Bank under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Among others, Commissioner JMC, Manmohan Singh, Joint Commissioner JMC R S Jamwal and officials of J&K Bank and JMC were present on the occasion.
