The speed with which ArvindKejriwal is changing his mind on party nominations for the coming Assembly elections reflects his mental instability and is a clear sign of the deep-rooted mess in the party, which is neck-deep in allegations of corruption, according to the Punjab Congress.Taking a dig at the AamAadmi Party (AAP) leader for changing the party’s candidate from Dharamkot (Moga), a day after replacing Vinod Kumar from Bhoa, the Congress said the excuses being given by Kejriwal’steam for re-allocation of tickets smack of extreme desperation, with the party leadership not even bothered about finding a justifiable reason for the sudden changes. While ticket allocation is an internal matter of any party, the fact that the Dharamkot candidate’s replacement came within hours of Vinod Kumar making serious allegations of graft against the AAP leadership is suggestive and raises suspicions of something drastically wrong with the party, said PPCC leaders Ranjit K Bhatti, Satpal S Mulewal and AjitInderMofar. The fact that Kejriwal himself had been running away from Punjab on some pretext or the other further endorses these suspicions, said the PPCC leaders.

According to the Punjab Congress leaders, Kejriwal’s desperation in the face of his party’s imminent wipeout in the Assembly polls is clearly manifest in his knee-jerk reactions on ticket allocation as well as his haphazard announcements on deputy chief ministership. The AAP leader, in a desperate bid to woo the Dalit community in the state, on Friday announced that the party would have a Dalit deputy chief minister if elected to power, thus contradicting his own earlier statement of Bhagwant Mann being the deputy CM candidate for AAP.“Can’t he make up his mind?” asked the PPCC leaders, adding, “Kejriwal’s contradictory and conflicting statements are typical of his unstable character, and his feeble-mindedness.” They recalled how Kejriwal had backtracked on his SYL statement, before going completely mute on the issue. “How can anyone trust such a man, who has no clarity of mind and who doesn’t know his own stand on anything?” asked the PPCC leaders. They reiterated PPCC president Captain Amarinder Singh’s statement that AAP, and Kejriwal, had lost all moral ground to contest the Punjab assembly polls.
