“The people of Jalalabad would send Bhagwant Mann packing to home by handing out crushing drubbing to him in the coming assembly polls and even his security deposit would be forfeited. The AAP cannot befool the people with its sugar coated lies and its real face has come out before public. The AAP as well as Bhagwant Mann would have to face an ignominious defeat.” The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal expressed these views here today on the issue of bhagwant mann pitted against him by AAP.Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion of sangat darshan, S. Badal said that the SAD-BJP alliance would fight the polls on the developmental plank and would form government for the 3rd consecutive time. He also said that being the MLA from Jalalabad he has transformed the backward constituency whose monumental progress speaks for itself. He also announced to develop the villages of Punjab on the pattern of urban areas after winning the 2017 polls and sewerage system would be strengthened apart from concretization of streets and drains.
Interacting with the media-persons, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the SYL issue has been buried in the annals of history and the Punjab Government has returned the SYL land to the owner farmers who are free to till them as they please. He said that the Chief Minister, S. Parkash Singh Badal has always taken up cudgels for the welfare of the state especially on behalf of the farming community and now the SAD-BJP government has resolved that there was never any need for construction of SYL nor would it be allowed to be constructed. He termed water as the lifeline of Punjab and also said that the state being an agrarian one needs water and has not even a drop to spare.
On the issue of split in the Awaaz-E-Punjab front of bains brothers, Pargat Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu, S. Badal said that this party could not move beyond paper and its self styled leaders would taste a bitter defeat in the polls.During the course of sangat darshan, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that the eligible families from Jalalabad constituency devoid of gas connections would get the same in the 10 days time. He also disbursed developmental grants to the 25 village panchayats of Jalalabad besides inaugurating the water works of 10 villages at a cost of Rs. 10 crore.
