The Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare and Health, Ms Asiea Naqash convened a meeting with the officers of Social Welfare, Urban Development and Health Department to review the functioning of these departments here today.In the meeting, the Minister took review of physical and financial achievement of various schemes being implemented by these departments.District Social Welfare Officer, Dr Abdul Kabir informed the meeting that under State Marriage Assistance Scheme, 511 cases have been sanctioned while 6341 cases have been covered under AASRA scheme and under integrated social security scheme; pension is being provided to 22835 beneficiaries. Similarly, under Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), 11391 beneficiaries are covered, beside department have provided financial assistance to 21 families under national family benefit scheme till date.
Similarly, Executive Officer, Municipal Committee informed the meeting that under the centrally sponsored scheme “Housing for All” seventy cases have been sanctioned till date. The work on the shopping complex at new bus stand is under progress. Chief Medical Officer gave detailed account of the overall health scenario in the district.The Minister also took stock of the arrangements put in place by the district administration for the people of border villages who have been evicted from their native villages in wake of escalating ceasefire violations on the Line of Control. The Minister instructed the district administration to provide all basic amenities to the affected people shifted to the make shift camps.Asiea Naqash directed the officers to work with missionary approach and zeal so as to ensure implementation of all central and state sponsored schemes. She stressed on the officers to organize awareness camps so that the masses can avail the benefits of these welfare schemes and also the objectives behind these schemes can be achieved. ADDC Rajouri, A S Chib, ADC Mumtaz Choudhary, Additional SP Mohammad Yousuf, CMO Rajouri, Dr Muhammad Younis, PO ICDS Nazir Sheikh, DSWO Dr Abdul Kabir besides other concerned officers of the district were present in the meeting.
