Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare and Health & Medical Education Department, Asiea Naqash today convened public meetings at Sunderbani and Rajouri to review the developmental scenario of the area.The Minister took a comprehensive review of the ongoing developmental works and progress achieved by various departments under different sectors and directed the concerned officers to ensure effective planning and execution of works for result oriented development. She called upon the officers to properly plan the works and execute them in a time-bound manner. Concerted efforts should be made to achieve tangible results on ground so that better amenities and services are provided to the people, said the Minister. Stressing the need for active participation of local populace in the developmental process, the Minister directed the officers to take appropriate steps to associate the prominent locals, political workers, panchayat members in the planning and developmental activities to ensure durable and purposeful assets as per the local needs.
The Minister highlighted the benefits of various welfare schemes being implemented by the government, like Ladli Beti, Beti Bachao-Beti Padao,AASRA, State Marriage Assistance Scheme and Old Age Pension scheme and asked the people to avail these. She directed the officials to launch an awareness campaign to highlight the schemes.The Minister also said that 1671 Anganwadi Centres have already been established in the area and more will be established in coming days as government is going to establish 3300 new Anganwadi centres in the state.The Minister also distributed Scooties among specially challenging person in Rajouri. She directed all the district officers to reach out to the people and sensitize them about the welfare programmes implemented by the government so that they can avail maximum benefits of these schemes.The Minister also interacted with delegations from various areas of the Rajouri and listened to their grievances. She issued on-the-spot instructions to the officers to address these on priority.Sectoral officers of various departments accompanied the Minister.
