The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah has adopted Insha Mushtaq, the 14-year-old girl from south Kashmir’s Shopian who completely lost her eyesight after her both eyes were badly damaged by pellets, saying “from now she is my third daughter”.In a statement issued to KNS, Shah said he has adopted Insha and will take care of her till his last breath.Pertinently, Shabir Ahmad Shah on Friday announced to donate his eyes after his death to those whose eyesight was snatched by the PDP’s ‘vision’.Announcing the decision, Shah said, “I will raise up Insha like my own daughters. From now, she is my third daughter.”As such, a delegation of Freedom Party visited the residence of Insha Mushtaq and apprised the family of Shabir Ahmad Shah’s decision.“It has been a deep desire of Shabir Ahmad Shah Sahib that a mission be started to help such victims to return to normal life and fulfill the dreams they had in their lives,” the delegation told the family.

Shah said, “We cannot turn our eyes away from the sad plight of such victims and as humans we must try our best to help them in any possible way. Today, I reiterate that I’m proud of the conscious people of my nation and hope they will fufill their moral responsibilities towards the victims of the ongoing Intifada.”“The well-to-do people of the society should take a lead in this regard and take overall responsibility of some pellet victim so that they don’t need to knock the doors of the ‘anti-people’ government. These children have had some dreams and we must help them realise those dreams. Those who can adopt any victim for life should not wait. God will reward them for such deed, In Sha Allah. This is a beautiful form of worshipping the God.”The DFP chairman said it is our responsibility to take care of those affected due to “state-sponsored atrocities” and also remain steadfast on our mission (of freedom).

Meanwhile, a DFP spokesperson paid tributes to Shaheed Rayees Ahmad Dar of Kakapora, Pulwama saying the martyr was an educated and a conscious youth who left the worldly gains and sacrificed his life for the sake of Allah.Expressing solidarity with the bereaved family, the spokesperson said the whole nation equally shares the grief of the loss of Shaheed Rayees. He also termed it “ridiculous” the statement of Indian defence minister Manohar Parrikar that stone pelting incidents in Kashmir fell drastically due to demonetization.“Manohar Parrikar must bear in mind that the Intifada movement will continue till the achievement of freedom. Shaheed Rayees was an educated youth and from a well-to-do family. His martyrdom is a slap on the face of Parrikar that freedom movement in Kashmir is run by money,” the spokesperson said. (KNS)
