Taking a strong note of the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remarks during demonetisation debate in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister and Punjab BJP president, Vijay Sampla today asked him to tender unconditional apology to the nation. Azad had compared the deaths after demonetisation drive with those killed in terrorist attacks in Uri.Castigating Azad, Vijay Sampla said, “Everyone is aware that the some senior Congress leaders are in the habit of making nonsensical statements just to hog the media limelight. Following Kejriwal’s footsteps, Ghulam Nabi Azad has crossed all the limits. He didn’t even spare our martyrs. His statement comparing the deaths after demonetisation to those killed in terrorist attacks in Uri is deplorable and reeks of substandard politics. This is an anti-national remark which gives a clean chit to Pakistan.

Azad should tender an unconditional apology to the nation”. Sampla also asked the Rajya Sabha Chairman to take a notice of Azad’s remarks and debar him attending the House proceeding till he apologises. Sampla said, “The entire nation is behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his crackdown on black money and Terrorism. The argument given by the Congress leaders in the Parliament to belie this historic step is unpalatable. Everybody is poking fun at the stance taken by the Opposition in the Parliament and to Azad is finding out ways to escape this embarrassment. By giving an anti-national statement, the Opposition has tried to divert the course of the debate and stall the House proceedings”. “It’s natural for the Congress to worry since they have lost all the black money earned during the past seven decades in a single blow. They might be heartbroken, but putting nation at stake for the sake of politics is simply unacceptable”, added Vijay Sampla.
