National Conference working president and former chief minister Omar Abdullah was among leaders who took part in the march that started from the Parliament House premises to Rashtrapati Bhavan to protest against the problems caused to people over the government’s demonetisation move.Among others who participated in the march include, Trinamool Congress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, leaders of the Shiv Sena and Aam Aadmi Party.They are to present a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee over their demands concerning the decision to demonetise 500 and 1,000 rupee notes.Aam Aadmi Party MLA Bhagwant Mann, former union minister Sultan Ahmed and Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant were among those who joined the march.The union government had on Nov 8 announced its decision to demonetise Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, leading to huge queues outside banks and ATMs to exchange the banned notes, deposit them, or withdraw currency that is legal tender.
