Minister of State for Development of North Eastern States, Youth Affairs and Sports, PMO, Pension, Personal, Public Grievances, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh today chaired a meeting of District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) to review the progress of various centrally sponsored schemes in district Ramban. Among others the meeting was attended by MLAs Neelam Kumar Langeh and Choudhary Aijaz Ahmed Khan, District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz besides senior officers of various departments. The committee took a detailed review of ongoing centrally sponsored schemes including Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY), Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), National Health Mission (NHM), Rashtriya Madhvamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchaye Yojana (PMKSY) and other schemes. The meeting had a comprehensive review of progress achieved under various projects and stressed on timely completion of ongoing works.DDC apprised the committee of the current status of all the centrally sponsored schemes being executed in the district. He informed that under MGNREGA, 781 works have been taken up, of which, 301 works have been completed and 10558 families have been provided employment upto October 2016 whereas under PMAY, 236 households have availed the benefit of this scheme and for current financial year the target has been set to the figure of 554 households.

The Union Minister was apprised that under Swachh Bharat Mission, 901 Individual House Hold Latrine (IHHL) units and 8 community toilets have been constructed in the district till the month of October. Besides, about 88.82 percent expenditure has been registered in the district under SBM. Dr. Singh said this national level campaign run by Government of India aims to cover all the backward statutory towns to make them clean.The meeting was further informed that 11 buildings of different middle schools have been upgraded to High school whereas work on upgradation of 20 middle schools is in progress. Besides, the tenders have been floated for implementation of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY). This will help provide round the clock power and 100 percent electrification to the rural households. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Singh stated that the purpose of this meeting is to monitor and optimally achieve the envisaged goals of centrally sponsored schemes and to bring efficiency in their output for welfare of the common masses. He further directed the officers of various departments to put in concerted efforts and work with synergy to ensure completion of works in given time. Public must be encouraged to play their role in the successful completion of these schemes and avail their optimum benefit, he added.Dr Singh said that the government is also considering the process of simplifying the DPR process as most of the times  projects are delayed due to delay in submission of DPR. He said provision would be made for online submission of DPR  with auto acknowledgment to reduce delay in approval from various offices.He further directed the officers to submit utilization certificates in time for timely release of installments.

Dr Singh further directed Deputy Commissioner to fix   timeline for 100 percent electrification of rural areas. He also asked the departments to present their reports in written in every meeting so that the area elected members would be made aware about the ongoing programme in their respective areas.Speaking on the issue of developing the areas into religious cum tourist destination, Dr Singh said that a comprehensive plan should be made in consultation with ASI to develop the Ghora Gali as heritage point and also to develop Tata Pani with adoption of some innovative ideas.In order to provide benefits of all centrally sponsored schemes to the people, Dr Jitendra Singh asked the officers to reach out to the people and conduct special awareness camps to make people aware about the schemes including Start Up India, Stand Up India, Atal Pension Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana etc.Responding to the issues raised by legislators, Dr Singh assured them of opening of additional extension counters of banks working in the district so that the people will be facilitated with banking services. He also directed DDC to ensure participation of legislators and civil society members in all the development related works.
