Punjab SC Commission Takes Suo-Moto Notice Of Reports Regarding Levying Fees From SC Students

Seeks Report From Chairperson Punjab School Education Board By 29th November

The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has taken a suo- moto notice of a report published in a newspaper regarding levying of fees from SC category students and sought a report from the Chairperson of Punjab School Education Board by 29th November.Disclosing this,  the Chairman of the commission Rajesh Bagha said that as per the news report , dalit students of matric and 12th standard were discriminated against in the matter pertaining to income limit and during previous years no examination fees was levied. He said that the infringement with the rights of SC students would not be allowed because they are enshrined in the regulations and constitutional norms.Mr. Bagha further said that the commission is committed to the welfare of SC community and giving them their due. He also said that the commission would ensure to resolve the issue of levying fees from SC students in a transparent manner.
