A high level meeting of Punjab State Agriculture Development Bank was today held under the chairmanship of Mr. S.K. Sandhu, Financial Commissioner, Cooperation to review the working of the bank. The review meeting was held at Kisan Bhawan, Chandigarh which was also attended by Mr.Arunjit Singh Miglani, Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Mrs. Gurneet Tej, Special Secretary, Cooperation, Mr. Muneshwar Chander, Additional Registrar (Credit).At the onset of the meeting a detailed presentation was given to the Financial Commissioner, Cooperation regarding the performance of the bank in the last three years. Mr. Sandhu minutely reviewed different operation of the bank especially the lending of various loan schemes, recovery pattern of all the primary banks, level of non-performing assets as well as the accounting policy.
Financial commissioner advised all the regional and field manager of the bank to work in professional manner to improve the recovery of the loans and profit of the banks. He also issued directions for the senior officers of the bank to ensure good quality especially in those branches where the recovery of the loans is comparatively less.Mr. Sandhu emphasized that in this age of technology banking system could not improve without improving the skills of the manpower with regard to modern software and high end technology. He advised that the training for the banking staff must be conducted at regular intervals in the reputed banking institute of the country. Financial Commissioner also assigned special tasks to the audit department and direct them to furnish the audit report in stipulated time frame.At the end Mr. Sandhu invited questions and suggestions from the field functionaries of the bank to ensure the better performance of the Punjab State Agriculture Development Bank.Besides Managing Director of the bank all the regional and field managers of the bank were also present in the meeting.
