To protest against the harassment, loot and delay in payment of Paddy to the farmers of Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party today organised Dharna Protests in all the Grain Markets of Ludhiana Zone and demonstrated against the anti farmer policies of Badal lead SAD-BJP Government. Dharnas were conducted by AAP leaders and volunteers in more than one dozen Mandis including Salem Tabri Ludhiana, Atam Nagar, Dehlon, Kila Raipur, Mullanpur Dakha, Chapaar, Khanpur, Ranian.Addressing the participants and farmers, Mr. Phoolka said that due to the anti farmers policies of SAD-BJP and Congress during the past 20 years , the hard working farmers of state had come under a heavy burden of loans and were being forced to commit suicides and warned that Badals and Amrinder have to pay the price for neglecting the farmers. The AAP leader said that after the promise of waiving of loans of farmers in AAP manifesto, Congress party has started making false promises and misleading the farmers.At Grain market Mullanpur Dakha Senior AAP leader and Candidate from Dakha Halka H S Phoolka lead the Dharna and at Salem Tabri Grain Market Dharna was by AAP Kisan and Labour Wing State Gen Secy and Candidate from Ludhiana West Ahbaab Singh Grewal, Ludhiana East Daljit Singh Grewal , Kisan Wing Zone Coordinator Gurjit Singh Gill and Labour Wing Zone Coordinator Rajinderpal Kaur. Mohan Singh Virk, Jagroop Singh Jarkhar, Charanjit Singh Bulara, and Jiwan Singh Sangowal among others who were present.
Speeking at Slaem Tabri mandi , Ahbaab grewal said that after the detection of 20000 crore food grain scam in Punjab, the banks refused to release Limits for procurement this season, due to which the farmers facing a lot of harassment in Mandis and the payments were not being made to the farmers in time. They asserted that after coming to power AAP govt. will waive of loans against the farmers. The AAP leaders demanded from the Govt. to immediately redress the problems of farmers in Mandis and release their payments at the earliest and warned that in case farmers’ problems are not redressed , AAP will further strengthen the agitation.
