Union Minister and Punjab BJP president, Vijay Sampla today said that the party would contest the upcoming assembly elections on the agenda of development. Sampla said that the BJP would keep the developmental works carried out by the Akali-BJP regime during the last 10 years and the progress made under Narendra Modi-led NDA government before the voters. At the party headquarters here, Sampla today discussed the current political situation with the 23 constituency party incharges and co-incharges and 12 district presidents and incharges and took a stock of poll preparations. Exhorting the party workers and leaders to gear up for the polls, Sampla said, “The Akali-BJP combine is all set to return to power for the third consecutive time in Punjab. The Congress is busy fighting factionalism and AAP’s graph is on the decline owing to its own shortcomings. Anti-incumbency wave is natural, but such a wave was never there for the BJP in the past and nor is it now.”Sampla further said that he was confident of his cadres and the party is enthusiastic with their way of functioning. Calling upon the party workers to again repeat history, Sampla stated, “Five years back, such an atmosphere was created in Punjab that the Akali-BJP combine won’t come back into power, but the cadres changed the entire scenario. We will again form the government this time.”
