In the face of strong opposition criticism over the suicide of an ex-serviceman, the BJP on Thursday said that Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal's reaction on suicides varied according to his political convenience. In a statement, Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party President Satish Upadhyay said "It is surprising that CM Kejriwal went into hibernation after the suicide of farmer Gajendra (Singh) to blow down the matter. Now, he is crying foul over Subedar Ram Kishan's death, not because he has any sympathy for the bereaved family but to divert attention of authorities from the inquiry of real reasons behind Gajendra's suicide case."Gajendra Singh, a farmer from Rajasthan, had hanged himself during an AAP rally in Delhi in April last year.

Upadhyay further said "Be it Subedar Ram Kishan's suicide, farmer Gajendra Singh's suicide, Soni Mishra's suicide at Narela or Santosh Koli's death in a mysterious road accident, all these are sad incidents but it is regrettable that due to Delhi Police lax attitude in filing a criminal case in the matter of farmer Gajendra's suicide matter till now we do not know the real reasons behind his suicide."The Delhi BJP president also said that "instigation" apparently played a role in the suicides of both Gajendra and Ram Kishan."People of Delhi feel that had Delhi Police made an inquiry into the role of CM Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and other leaders present on the dais when Gajendra committed suicide, Subedar Ram Kishan might have been alive today," Upadhyay said.
