Abdul Haq reviews progress of DDB decisions in Kulgam

Minister for Rural Development Department, Abdul Haq, today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the District Development Board(DDB) decisions at Kulgam.MP Rajya Sabha Nazir Ahmad Laway, Legislators, Abdul Majeed Padar, Mohammad Amin Bhat, and Abdul Majeed Larmi attended the meeting.On the occasion, the District Development Commissioner Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat, briefed the meeting about the progress and achievement made under different sectors. He informed the meeting that against the availability of Rs. 42.36 crore, about Rs. 28.05 crore have been utilized amounting to 66.20% expenditure.While taking stock of the R&B Department, the Minister was briefed that 52.10 km of road length has been macadamized and 13 bridges out of 23 damaged bridges have been restored following the 2014 floods. It was detailed that construction on Laisoo and Khiloora bridges is under progress  and shall be completed by March 2017, while as work on Amnoo bridge, Arreh bridge on Mohammadpora-Nilow road, Kulgam bridge on Kulgam-Chambgund road has been completed.It was informed that construction of  IPD block of District Hospital, Government Polytechnic College, Science Block GDC Kulgam, building of GDC Kilam and GNM School Kulgam has been completed. Besides, the earthwork on Maternity Hospital Kulgam has been started which, on completion, would improve health infrastructure of the district.

On the occasion, the Minister directed the DDC to constitute a team of officers who will inspect the ongoing developmental projects and shall submit the report within 15 days.Later on, the Minister was apprised that the transformer for upgradation of Kulgam grid station is in transit (at Udhampur) and the installation work will be started within 15 days.Director Tourism informed the meeting that Wasaknag has been enlisted in the pilgrimage tourist site list and shall be developed accordingly. Besides, he informed that Bungam Park Kulgam has been handed over to the Floriculture Department for its further development.Under Health sector, 8 sub-centre buildings have been completed and work on 2 buildings is under progress, while as CT scan facility has been installed in the district hospital.During the meeting, the Legislators put forth their demands including adequate staff for PHCs, macadamisation of roads, provision of firewood and completion of the stalled projects.Regarding the malfunctioning of some filtration plants, the Minister directed the Exen PHE to seek a prioritized list of 3 filtration plants per constituency from the respective MLAs and take immediate steps for their restoration.The meeting was also attended by the  officers of RDD, Tourism, R&B, PHE, PDD, PMGSY, I&FC, FCS&CA, Tourism Development Authority, Agriculture,
