Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened an officers meeting to review progress of road projects under National Highway Authority of India and Border Roads Organization.Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Engineers of R&B, PDD, PMGSY, Beacon and officials of concerned executing agencies attended the meeting, while as DCs of various Kashmir districts participated in the meeting via video conferencing.The meeting was informed that till August 30, 2016 for National Highway 44 about 7420 kanals of land was acquired while 295 kanals are yet to be acquired. It was given out that Rs 560 crore as land compensation was provided as well.Mr. Baseer Khan was briefed that due to prevailing situation work on various projects got affected. He assured officers of proper security and asked them to work in double shifts so that various developmental projects could be completed well in time.The Meeting also reviewed work on Alestang-Leh 220KV and Samba-Amargarh 400KV transmission line. The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned to form joint inspection teams for time bound and smooth completion of these projects.
