To express solidarity with the border families who migrated in wake of ceasefire violation along International Border, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Ramesh Kumar along with senior officers celebrated Diwali with the inamtes at relief camps in Hiranagar on Sunday.Deputy Commissioner distributed sweets and crackers among the inmates of relief camps established in different parts of Hiranagar sub division.District Administration reassured its commitment for their safe return to homes as soon as situation normalizes. All the basic services and amenities are being provided to the migrants in relief camps. The DC assured the displaced families that district and sub division administration will ensure all possible amenities to the effected families. The administration also advised the villagers to stay indoors during night hours and be vigilant.Pertinent to mention here that thousands of people migrated from border villages to designated relief camps in view of fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan along international border in Hiranagar.Later, the DC reviewed the overall situation on borders during at a meeting of officers and border migrants. Position of stocks and facilities were also reviewed. He appreciated the efforts put in by officers and their teams for evacuating people well in time and providing all the services at relief camps. The inmates expressed satisfaction over the basic services and amenities being provided to them at the camps.ACR Kathua Jitendra Mishra, SDM Hiranagar Sohan Lal, Tehsildar Hiranagar Gourav Sharma, BDO Mohammed Sayed, CDPO Hiranagar Shafqat Majeed, TSO Jaswant Singh and other officers accompanied the DC during the visit.
