Police yet to identify culprits involved in school burning incidents

At a time when school building are set on fire on daily basis in Kashmir, police is still clueless and not a single culprit has either been named or arrested so far.Around 28 Government schools buildings have been gutted in mysterious fire incidents in past over three months in Kashmir. Some of the building gutted in government forces action but most of the schools were set on fire by what people call them ‘organized gang’. This mysteries organized gang is active in Central, North and South Kashmir and on daily basis the members of the gang are setting one or two school building on fire. “The remarks made by police that they can’t secure all the school buildings have apparently emboldened the miscreants involved in such acts. One fails to understand what police is doing and why this organized gang is not being exposed,” said an educationist to news agency CNS.“The burning of schools shows the failure and non-seriousness of the government. The people involved in these illegal acts are the biggest foes of Kashmiri society. They must be brought to justice,” legislator Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami said.

Both mainstream and separatists including militant organizations as well have expressed anguish over the increasing incidents of school burning. “It is high time for the government to take the issue seriously and without playing politics on the matter expose those involved in these acts,” said a civil society member.Some of the schools which has gutted in the fire are High School Kanipora in Kukgam zone, High School Katrasoo and Higher Secondary School Bugam in Yaripora zone and Middle School Watoo in zone D H pora, Middle School Kanjikelam in Yaripora zonhe of Kulgam district, Government High School Botego (zone Anantnag), Government High School Parigam (zone Kakpora), Government High School Lilam in zone Vilgam Kupwara, Girls High School Ompora (zone Budgam),  High School Kawoosa Khalisa (Zone Narbal) and Boys High School Aripathan (zone Beerwah), Government Middle School and primary wing of Girls High School in zone Vehil of district Shopian, Government Higher Secondary School Sumbhal (zone Sumbhal), High School Theeru (zone Tulmullah) in Ganderbal district, Middle School Palpore and Middle School Checkseri (zone Nehalpora) Baramulla, Government Middle School in Bunpora area of Saderkoot, historic Islamia Hanfia Educational Institute Lal Chowk in Anantnag district, Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute Zewan Srinagar, Jawahar Navodya Vidalya School Ashmuqam.  (CNS)
