Srinagar , 30 Oct 2016

Barely 12 hours after his release from Central Jail Srinagar, JKLF Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik squarely blamed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and education minister Naeem Akhter for burning down Schools in Kashmir Valley.According to the KNS correspondent, Malik while addressing a crowded press conference in Srinagar said “Mehbooba Mufti and Education Minister Naeem Akhtar are squarely responsible for burning of Schools in Kashmir Valley. “Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed conspired against the then Chief Minister Late Khawaja Ghulam Mohammad Shah and got scores of temples burnt in Bijbehara and other parts of South Kashmir just to create an atmosphere for withdrawal of support to the then G.M Shah Government”.Saying that if Late Mufti could manage to burn temples in 1986 just to withdraw support to the then G.M Shah Government why can’t late Mufti’s daughter Mehbooba Mufti now Chief Minister and education Minister hatch a conspiracy to get Schools burnt, Malik said and asked “name the leader who asked students to boycott exams? No leader has so far asked students to boycott exams. Leaders have left it to students to decide whether they want to take the examination or boycott”.Declaring that Unity forged by separatist groups will remain intact and no power on earth can break this unity Malik said “Separatists will remain united till the campaign launched for revolution in Kashmir is taken to its logical conclusion”. Saying that the resistance movement belongs to people and protest programme will continue till the people like it to continue, Malik said “protest colanders are issued after thorough consultations and as per the wishes of the people”.

Slamming Mehbooba Mufti for branding separatists and pioneer of armed struggle illiterate Malik said “Mehbooba Mufti out of brute frustration and in wilderness of power is branding separatists and pioneers of armed struggle illiterates”. Are Syed Salahuddin, Abdul Ahad Guru and Nadeem Khateeb illiterates? Malik questioned.Elaborating Malik said “No matter what kind of oppression is unleashed by India on us, howsoever much extreme be the false propaganda of India media against us, we will not bow before the forces of falsehood and will continue our legitimated freedom struggle till the achievement of the desired goal”.Announcing that meeting delegations or denying audience to any outside delegation won’t break the alliance of the resistance leadership Malik advised media not to make an issue out of such petty events.Saying that present phase of struggle is led by people of Jammu Kashmir and will carry on according to their will and advice.Deliberating upon the present situation in Jammu Kashmir, Yasin Malik said that after the martyrdom of Burhan Wani, people of Jammu Kashmir spontaneously started a protest and resistance movement. This non-violent peaceful resistance led by the youth of Kashmir as usual was met with police and military force of India which in my eyes was no new thing. Same was done after Indra Abdullah accord in 1975 when people who opposed and resisted that accord and continued with the freedom struggle were put in Bahg-I-Mehtab interrogation center, red 16 and other places of torture and thus pushed to the wall and which finally resulted in an armed rebellion by the youth of Kashmir.Saying that Kashmiris transformed their struggle and started a new phase of non-violent struggle in 2008 Malik said “India and its Kashmiri collaborators instead of respecting that historical transformation used old tactics of crushing peaceful resistance with military might. Same was repeated in 2010, 2009 and 2011 and peaceful youth like Burhan Wani Shaheed who were on the forefront of peaceful political resistance were left with no space for peaceful resistance and forced to join armed resistance, he added.

He said that in 1990 when Ishfaq Majeed Wani embraced martyrdom every eye in Jammu Kashmir wept for him and in 2016 when Burhan Wani embraced martyrdom every eye was wet. Yasin Malik said that this is the people’s peaceful response against Indian hegemony and India to crush this people’s response has adapted to oppressive methods of highest magnitude and during last 109 days about 95 innocents have been martyred by Indian bullets and pellets, more than 15000 are injured. More than 7000 have been hit by pellets among whom more than 1000 got hit in their eyes. He said that during these days more than 8000 peoples majority of whom are students and youth have been arrested among whom about 500 have been booked under PSA. This oppression has been named as operation calm down by India and touching the new heights of shamelessness so-called chief minister Mehbooba Mufti who is also a self-proclaimed human rights activist is justifying these atrocities by saying that had these people gone to camps and police station to buy milk or sweets. He said that every household and every human in Kashmir has tolerated the wrath on India and its stooges in one form or the other and this oppression is continuing unabated.

Yasin Malik said that from last four months a revolution is going on according to the wishes and programs of the people. Even many people don’t accept the relaxations during the strikes. People across the nooks and corners of Kashmir have on their own joined this revolution and terming such a revolution as sponsored is ridiculous. He said that today India to demonize our struggle and castigate a peoples revolution is naming it as sponsored by Pakistan or some leaders. I want to tell them that from 2008 onwards their oppression has pushed thousands of youth in Jammu Kashmir to the wall and from last one year or so Kashmiri youth without crossing LOC or border have snatched more than 100 guns from police and forces and joined armed struggle. He said that Indian oppression has agitated Kashmiri youth in such a way that if today they find arms from anywhere, thousands may join the armed resistance therefore instead of blame game and naming a peoples revolution as sponsored, India should realize and accept this reality. Terming the present phase of people resistance in Kashmir as part of ongoing long struggle, Yasin Malik said that today questions are being floated that what have we gained from this struggle. He said that Palestinians after every year or two start intifada and whenever they think that Palestine issue is not on the international radar they come out with new intifadas. Same can be said about Indian freedom movement during which many phases like salt revolt, non-cooperation movement, Sawdeshi movement and so on came and were termed as failures but the fact of the matter is that such phases are like ladders to the final goal and during long struggles phases like these do come and go. He said that before present phase of resistance, Jammu Kashmir issue was not on the international radar screen but today the bold of our sacred martyrs have again brought it in lime-light and who world is talking about Jammu Kashmir.

Yasin Malik said that from last four months Indian media has started a vicious campaign against the resistance leadership .They are making propaganda about the children and grandchildren of the leadership like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umer Farooq, Syeda Aasiya Indrabi and me as if these children have no right to live and seek education. He said that India and its biased media think that if the captains of resistance are defeated or defamed, movement will also be defeated automatically. I ask them to do whatever they can. Go on with your false propaganda and Globalism but you can never succeed in breaking our resolve and will, said Yasin Malik. Yasin Malik said that Mehbooba government has surpassed every tyrant and even government employees are not being spared. He said that this self-proclaimed human rights activist has even surpassed Jagmohan, Saksena and KV Krishna Rao like governors. Blaming so-called chief minister and her minister Naeem Akhtar for the burning down of schools, Yasin Malik said that for their politics of normalcy these people have waged a war against students and have irked them severely.

He said that in 1984 curfew remained for two months in Kashmir and students of some colleges and schools met the then divisional commissioner and asked him to delay exams because syllabus was not completed. It took only two days to them to announce march session but today despite protests and demands from students across the valley Mehbooba Jee and Nayeem Akhtar sahib are hell bent upon taking revenge from these innocent students and are pushing them to the wall. While thanking traders, business community, transporters, students, employees , other people from all walks of life and especially the people of Pirpanjal and Chenab regions for showing exemplary resilience and dedication ,Yasin Malik said that today RSS rallies are held in Chenab and Pirpanjal to intimidate Muslims in those regions. Today Indian Prime Minister Nerandera Modi is boasting about being like Israel but we want to convey to him that military might cannot defeat peoples will and aspirations and despite all his oppressive tactics people of Jammu Kashmir will continue with their freedom struggle. While replying a question JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that unity between freedom parties and resistance leaders will continue and we together will resist the evil designs of the oppressors.
