Shiite mourners defy curfew in Shalimar,Take out procession

The Shiite mourners on Thursday defied the curfew in Shalimar area of Srinagar and took out a procession in the area.Pertinently, the authorities had imposed restrictions to prevent the scheduled procession in the area.Notably, today is the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain (RA), the fourth Shiite Imam, also known as Zain-ul-Abideen.Meanwhile, hundreds of Shiite mourners who had managed to reach the area around Fajr Namazdefied the curfew and took out a procession in the area.The mourners informed that it is the first since past several decades that authorities had impose curfew in the area on this day.Reports said that forces had put massive restrictions and blocked all the roads leading to the venue.However, Shiite mourners took out the procession from Aarbal to Aliabad of the Shalimar locality in state’s summer capital.
